FABTECH covers sheet metal cutting, bending, welding, pressing and finishing, while IMTS covers machining and machine tools. In 2026 IMTS runs September 14 to 19 in Chicago with about 90,000 predicted attendees, and FABTECH runs October 21 to 23 in Las Vegas with 31,000 predicted attendees. The buyer bases overlap but are not the same.
